Two first-half goals sent Abingdon United tumbling to a 2-0 defeat at Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West leaders Hungerford Town last night.
Abingdon went behind on 34 minutes when a corner was only headed out as far as Matt Day, who smashed home an unstoppable volley.
And a minute before half-time, a free-kick was harshly awarded against United, and Ben Pugh drove it through the wall and into the bottom corner.
Abingdon controlled much of the second half, but they were unable to find the target with Carl Self and Luke Carnell going closest to pulling a goal back.
