MANAGER Mike Ford feels that expectations are becoming too high at Oxford City after they were beaten at home by Colwyn Bay, writes Jack Johnson.

“We’ve probably exceeded all expectations,” he said.

“I said to my staff afterwards that it may be a good thing if we dropped out of the play-offs because I think it is weighing a bit heavy on us.

“We’ve come up with no expectations and we’ve massively over achieved, and I think it is a bit of a millstone around our necks.

“We’re just too up and down as a team at the moment, and we’ve lost a game of football which I thought we were very unfortunate to lose, but the first-half performance has cost us.

“The lads have got to remember that we cannot take anyone for granted or be disrespectful to anybody. “I’m not necessarily saying we did that, but we’ve just got to make sure that if we had played the whole game like we did in the second half we would have won 5-0.”

Ford also admitted that the amount of goals coming from his strikers was a concern.

“That is probably one of my issues with the team,” he added.
