Eynsham's Dave Messenger recorded a brace of third-place finishes in his class in the final two rounds of the Alfa Romeo Championship at Donington Park.
It saw him finish in fourth place in the Class E championship standings, having only competed in eight of the 14 races, as Neil Smith took the title.
After qualifying in sixth place, Messenger’s Team Darnells Racing made several alterations to the car resulting in improved lap times.
Messenger took third spot behind James Ford and Adie Hawkins in the first race.
This meant he started the second race from third position which he held to the finish as Ford completed a double with Andy Inman this time runner-up.
He said: “This is a fantastic result for the team and myself.
"We are hoping to compete in more races next year to give us a better chance at the title.”
