A HOLE-IN-ONE helped Jane Hackett spectacularly come from behind to win the Oxfordshire Ladies Lucy Davies Scratch Trophy.
The Tadmarton Heath golfer was trailing in the final to Hadden Hill’s Linda Dowzall by one hole heading to the ninth tee at Frilford Heath’s Red Course.
But a superb three-wood rolled onto the green and into the hole, squaring the match.
With the momentum on her side heading into the back nine, Hackett took control of the match.
She built a two hole lead and wrapped up a 2 & 1 victory with a five-foot putt for par on the penultimate green.
She said: “Linda was fantastic around the greens and in some ways played better than I did.
“But my three wood was working really well and it meant that I was often getting to the green with fewer shots, which proved the difference.”
It was the second year in a row that a hole-in-one had helped decide the competition’s final.
Susie Hogben, of Drayton Park, aced the first hole at Huntercombe en route to victory 12 months ago.
