Young talent abounded at the 40th Oxfordshire Open tournament held at Radley College.
Oxon singles champion Chris Raw lost 21-16, 21-14 in the third round to the eventual winner, Hampshire's Bruce Peake.
Amanda King, the county's ladies' title holder, lost in the quarter-final 21-13, 21-9 to Mary le Druillenec, who lives in a village north of Bicester, but still plays for Warwickshire.
A record 170 players entered.
