Frilford Heath golf professional Eddie Pepperell produced a remarkable six under-par 65 final round in Italy on Saturday to clinch his place on the full European PGA Tour next season.
The 21-year-old, from Abingdon, zoomed up the field to joint seventh in the Challenge Tour’s Apulia San Domenico Grand final.
He finished on 13-under 271, six shots behind the winner, Denmark’s Espen Kofstad.
Pepperell’s prize money of €10,428 took his total earnings for the year to €72,378, and lifted him to13th on the final money list.
The top 21 won places on the full tour in 2013.
