Former Oxford City striker Garath McCleary has spoke of his joy at netting his first Premier League goal in Reading’s dramatic 3-3 draw against Fulham at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.
The 25-year-old winger, who joined the Royals from Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in the summer, slotted past Mark Schwarzer five minutes from time to make it 2-2 after coming on as a 69th-minute substitute.
Dimitar Berbatov restored Fulham’s lead three minutes later, but Hal Robson-Kanu equalised for Reading in the last minute.
McCleary, who hails from Blackbird Leys, said on Twitter: “Thanks for the all the messages over the moon 2 get my 1st premiership goal #proudmoment.”
