Oxford City will give on-loan Wycombe keeper Matt Ingram his debut when they host seventh-placed Stalybridge Celtic at Court Place Farm in tomorrow's Blue Square Bet North.
With regular keeper Warren Carter struggling with a groin injury, boss Mike Ford moved fast to secure the signing of the 20-year-old on a three-month deal.
“He’s 6ft 3ins, is a good kicker, played in Conference South with Staines last season and had a spell at Hayes & Yeading,” said Ford.
“Warren hasn’t done a lot wrong, but I didn’t want him turning up Saturday and then not being able to play, leaving us with a keeper, so I couldn’t take that risk.
“We’ve also got a game Tuesday and I didn’t want to risk it.”
Meanwhile, Ford said they must be more patient following last week’s 2-1 loss at ten-man Vauxhal Motors.
He added: “When they went down to ten, we lost our discipline in terms of shape.
“We thought we could go and win the game very quickly.
“Every time we had the ball we felt we had to score.
“We worked extremely hard when it was 11 v 11, but we didn’t do enough when we had a spare man.
“We then became anxious and were not patient enough.” Nick Stanley is added for the first time this season after recovering from a broken ankle, while Declan Benjamin and Albi Skendi return.
Felipe Barcelos (away) is out, while Steve Basham (pelvic problem) is a doubt.
Oxford City: from Ingram, Carter, Mills, Stonehouse, Ballard, Learoyd, Willmott, Walcott, Malone, Sharif, Cook, Pond, Basham, Gunn, Skendi, Benjamin.
