A driver had a lucky escape after her silver Audi ploughed into a lorry trailer in Abingdon.
The fire service said it suspected she had been dazzled by the sun seconds before the crash in Nuffield Way at 6.10pm yesterday.
Drivers have been warned to remain vigilant to avoid a similar fate as winter approaches and the sun is lower in the sky.
Two fire engines from Abingdon Fire Station rushed to the scene to find the driver being cared for by passers-by.
Paramedics also attended the incident and treated the woman, who suffered bruising to her ankle and a cut to her head.
Fire service station manager Paul Webster said: "The driver had a very lucky escape, managing to avoid serious injury having driven into a parked lorry trailer and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Road Safety Team would like to remind all drivers to pay full regard to the road conditions, now as autumn moves to winter and the sun sets just as many drivers head home from work”.
