A 20-year old man from Abingdon has been charged with a drug offence and assaulting police officers.

Joseph Ball, of Saxton Road, was charged on Friday with one count of possession with intent to supply cocaine and two counts of assaulting police officers.

Thames Valley Police said it came after a suspected drug deal in the Ladygrove estate, Didcot, on Friday. One man was arrested and two officers were assaulted.

Ball appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Saturday and has been remanded in custody until tomorrow, when he is due to appear at the court again.
