IT was all smiles yesterday as mum Sara Perkins showed off her beaming new daughter, Eliza.
Eliza was the first baby to be born at the Cotswold Maternity Unit in Chipping Norton after it reopened on July 1.
Mrs Perkins, from Brailes, said: “I was so pleased that I was able to give birth to Eliza in the same room that I had my second child in two years ago.”
Eliza was born on Sunday at 4.06pm and weighed 7lb 8oz.
Mrs Perkins and her husband, Jason, were able to go home after the birth and introduce Eliza to their other children, Lilly, four, and Riley, two.
Births at the maternity unit were suspended in October after staff relationship broke down, a report found in March.
