A 94th-minute equaliser from Zac McEachran saw Oxford City extend their unbeaten run to four games as they secured a 1-1 draw against Scarborough Athletic in Vanarama National League North.
Scarborough's Will Thornton headed the away side into an early lead, but McEachran found the back of the net with virtually the last kick of the game at Court Place Farm following a goal line scramble to leave both sides with a point.
Thornton found space inside the box and provided a simple header to put Scarborough ahead from the first corner of the match.
Despite going behind in the second minute, City fought to regain control, but Scarborough's defence proved difficult to penetrate.
City struggled to create clear chances in the first half, with McEachran, Tom Scott, and Josh Ashby all coming close but unable to draw their side level.
Scott got on the end of a lofted ball from Aaron Drewe, but only managed to find the side netting, while Ashby saw his shot blocked.
McEachran came close to an equaliser as the half time whistle approached, but he too saw his shot blocked after bursting through the Scarborough defence.
The second half saw the introduction of Corie Andrews, who injected some much-needed urgency into City's attack.
The striker created a one-on-one chance for himself after beating two defenders, but slipped at the crucial moment and failed to get his shot away.
As the match progressed, City continued to press for an equaliser, with Scarborough's threat diminishing to sporadic set-pieces.
City's goalkeeper, Kai McKenzie-Lyle, was kept busy, making several important saves to keep the score line at 1-0.
With time running out, Andrews once again found himself in a promising position but failed to score from a tight angle.
City manager Ross Jenkins brought on Alfie Potter and Lewis Coyle as his side intensified their assault on Scarborough's goal.
The visitors had a golden opportunity to secure the win with two minutes remaining, but Dom Tear missed a straightforward chance, firing wide after he had been found by Brown.
As the match entered stoppage time, City ramped up the pressure on Scarborough's defence and with almost the last kick of the match, they found a well-deserved equaliser.
After a goal-line scramble following a corner, McEachran found the ball at his feet and swiftly turned and shot, finding the back of the net and extending City's unbeaten run.
City will now face Sporting Khalsa in the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday, November 16, before returning to league action against Alfreton Town.
