Oxford United have paid tribute to a well-known supporter who has died at the age of 96.
Ron Slater was an avid fan who supported the U’s since 1950.
Oxford United fondly nicknamed him ‘Rocket Ron’ and the club has said he will be missed by all.

In a video previously shared by the club, Mr Slater said: “I first watched the game at Headington and that was when they played the very first game under floodlights and I think that was December 1950.

“When you get to my age there isn’t very much else, but football now quite frankly is my life.
“I just love it. I read all about it.
“Coming to the ground, watching the football, it’s football all the way from when I get up in the morning until I go home and go to bed and then dream about it.
