WINTER arrived in Banbury today when about an inch of snow fell on high ground in the north of town.
The 'motors' estate - including Morris Drive and Austin Drive - was affected, as were parts of Bretch Hill and Hardwick.
The snow fell at about 9am and for a while the untreated roads made driving difficult.
Few people ventured out, and passer-by Ron Richards said: "This is the last thing I expected. I've come from the town centre. where there is no snow at all. It's unbelievable that in the space of a few yards I have gone from no snow to an inch deep."
