They can't. Can they?

Thursday's 2-1 win at Kettering means Oxford United are just three points of the play-offs.

They may have played more games than nearly all their rivals, but with the fixtures comign thick and fast, it is only a matter of time before some of their rivals slip-up.

And the U's must make sure that they take advantage.

Since Dec 28, United had 22 games to turn their season around.

With the amount of points they had when Chris Wilder took over, they would need to win at least 16 games to stand a chance of making the top five.

And to think that with 8 games to go another 7 wins will be enough it is incredible they are still in with a shout.

United fans are starting to believe...

So things didn't quite go to planned at Cheltenham last week.

But hey, the racing was so good that I am sure it will have given people the bug to make the effort and go to a racecourse and watch the action themselves.

It certainly has for a dozen or so people with whom I am linking up with at Newbury on Saturday.

There are some going who have never set foot on a racecourse before, but want to witness the buzz of watching your money in action.

Newbury is a fantastic track that has everything you want and expect.

With free entry for any under 16s when accompanied by an adult, and entrance to the course starting from £7 per person, it is a day that the family can spend together for little expense.

Additionally, it is only around 30 minutes drive for most people in Oxfordshire, and has the added bonus of attracting all the top names in the sport.

The only problem - finding the winners as ever.

Competitive racing there is what makes the track what it is, and so you will do well if you leave with as much money as you came with...
