WHAT I’M CALLED: Les Sibley.

MY AGE IN YEARS: Over 21 and like a priceless antique I become more valuable with age.

WHAT I DO: I work full time as a civil servant at MoD Bicester, I also serve the community as an elected Bicester town and Cherwell district councillor, a role I thoroughly enjoy.

WHERE I LIVE: I have lived in Bicester a long time, even before the book Bicester Wuz a Little Town was published and I can vouch that the Bicester of those days was just that.

WHO I LOVE: I love my wife Mary, my friend and companion of a lifetime, our two daughters and life in general.

HAPPIEST YEAR: For me the year 1966, when England won the World Cup. That day the sun seemed to shine forever.

DARKEST MOMENT: When I received a telephone call telling me that my mother had died, a moment I will always remember.

PROUDEST BOAST: In 1997 I was elected mayor of Bicester and during that time I was privileged to be part of Bicester winning the Regional In Bloom Town award for the first time.

DULLEST JOB: Being a milk boy getting up in the dark on cold winter mornings to climb flights of stairs at times up to the eighth floor to deliver just one pint of milk to one customer. All the time trying unsuccessfully to do it quietly, without tripping over empty milk bottles and sleeping cats, Suffice to say I did not stay too long with that particular job.

LIFELONG HERO: My lifelong heroine was my mother, who brought up a family of six on her own.

OLDEST FRIEND: My grandfather was my oldest friend and mentor, and the wisest man I ever knew. I could go to him with any problem and he always gave me sound advice that still stands me in good stead.

WIDEST SMILE: This is easy – my wife has the widest happiest smile when I take her a cup of tea first thing in the morning.

FAVOURITE DREAM: I dream of winning the Euromillions jackpot on a Friday evening, knowing that I will never have to go to work on a Monday morning ever again.

LESSONS LEARNED: As I get older, I am less gullible.

BIGGEST REGRET: Not being able to become a professional international chess player and meet the masters such as Bobby Fischer and Gary Kasparov in their heyday.
