A 'DEDICATED' team at a South Oxfordshire preschool is helping to accelerate children's development.
Ofsted was impressed with staff at Dorchester-on-Thames Pre-School near Berinsfield during a visit last month, and has now rated it 'good'.
A report released this week by an inspector stated: "The manager leads a dedicated staff team that works hard to improve outcomes for children.
"Children develop the skills they need for the next stage of their learning and their eventual move on to school.
"Staff provide children with many opportunities to broaden their knowledge of the wider world and their local community."
The 21-pupil village preschool, which is in the grounds of Dorchester St Birinus Primary School, was also rated 'good' at its last inspection in 2015.
Ofsted praised its team for getting to know children and their families well, and for making pupils feel 'safe and secure'.
Its report added: "Children settle well into the preschool routine and are curious and confident to speak to visitors.
"Mealtimes are social occasions.
"Staff reinforce good manners and encourage children to take turns and listen to each other."
The preschool is run by a committee and receives funding to educate children aged two, three and four.
