CHILDREN'S author Robin Jarvis will be visiting pupils at Larkmead School today to inspire a new generation of bookworms.

The award-winning writer will be talking to students at the Abingdon school about his latest book Time of Blood, the third title in the Witching Legacy Series and supplying them with inspiration for their own reading and writing.

Master of supernatural adventure, Mr Jarvis continues his enthralling new series that began with The Power of Dark and The Devil's Paintbox.

The sinister Mister Dark is more powerful than ever and has enslaved young Verne to his will. The question is whether Lil can save her best friend before their enemy unleashes his most audacious and insane plan yet.

Even with the help of new, surprising allies - a witch, a mysterious man of many disguises and the secretive aufwaders beneath the cliff - all seems hopeless.

Whitby has never been a more frightening and dangerous place to live, and the murdered dead refuse to rest in peace.

Mr Jarvis started writing in 1988 and quickly became a bestselling author with his Deptford Mice and Whitby Witches series.

His mixture of magic and horror enthralled readers and he was one of those authors whose reputation grew like wildfire as a result of ‘playground buzz’ in the late 80s and early 90s.

Before becoming an author, he was a model-maker for TV and films, and always produces amazing creations to accompany his books.

He has been shortlisted for the Carnegie and Smarties awards, and won the Lancashire Libraries book of the year.
