OXFORD West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran asked the Government whether it would provide free English tuition to asylum seekers or refugees with poor language skills.
Home Office minister Brandon Lewis answered her written question on Thursday and said asylum seekers waiting for a decision on whether they will be able to stay in the UK may be able to get a 50 per cent to their costs.
Mr Lewis said it 'is not to provide asylum seekers with publicly funded English for Speakers of Other Languages courses, although they may access courses on a fee-paying basis'.
