ONE of the country’s leading human rights campaigners is to give a talk at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford.

Shami Chakrabarti will speak at the venue on Friday about her new book, Of Women.

Director of the National Council for Civil Liberties from 2003 to 2016, Baroness Chakrabarti is now the Labour Party’s Shadow Attorney General and a member of the House of Lords. She also served as the Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University from 2008-2015.

Her latest book explores the challenges faced by the world in the 21st century.

Entry, including a copy of the new book costs £25, or you can buy £8 entry only tickets, with doors opening at 6.30pm.
