INFAMOUS debating club, the Oxford Union, has come under fire from students for spending nearly £300,000 in the 2016 financial year.
The Union, which is separate from the University but only allows Oxford students to join charges members ££262 for membership.
It counts Michael Foot, Boris Johnson, and Michael Gove as previous Presidents.
The accounts uncovered by student paper the Cherwell, saw £291,791 spent in total in the 2016 financial year, including over £50,000 on ‘debate costs’, which includes dinners, speaker expenses, and drinks.
