DOG-owners will have the chance to pick up some life-saving skills from an experienced vet at a course in Chipping Norton.
The Dog First Aid class will be held at The Crown and Cushion on Saturday between 10am and 1.30pm, giving people the opportunity to try out CPR on a dummy dog called Cassie.
Dog First Aid is a leading provider of this type of training and continues to develop, having worked with the MOD, police dog handlers, and the Kennel Club.
Marianne Thomas, who will lead the class, has worked as a small animal vet for 7 years, with extensive emergency experience.
The courses are primarily aimed at those who work with dogs, including rescue dog handlers, trainers, behaviourists, dog walkers and others - but responsible pet owners can also take part.
Other skills offered include how to deal with heat stroke as well as injuries dogs have sustained after being struck by vehicles.
Those successfully completing the course leave with a Dog First Aid certificate and other hand outs.
