ARCHAOLOGICAL investigations are starting at a 12th century church.
Experts from John Moore Heritage Services in Beckley will be examining remains around St Mary’s in Little Wittenham ahead of a planned expansion.
The church is planning to build an extension to the north aisle to provide a new toilet and wheelchair access.
The archaeologists have said the proposed groundworks ‘could encounter burials from the medieval period onwards’.
