Oxford West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran has urged comedian Eddie Izzard to join the Liberal Democrats, following his announcement that he wants to join the Labour National Executive Committee.
In an article for the Independent published on Tuesday Ms Moran describes Mr Izzard's views are more aligned with that of her party than Labour and adds the comedian would be 'more at home' in the Liberal Democrats as it is "the party that really is open, tolerant – and united".
