A PASTRY chef who serves up meals for starving scientists across Oxfordshire has been named ‘chef manager of the year’ for the UK.

Sean Campbell of Oxford picked up the title at the national 2017 Heritage Chef of the Year Awards last week.

The 36-year-old, who works for catering firm BaxterStorey, runs kitchens at Oxford University’s engineering and materials department, the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and Rutherford Appleton Laboratory at Harwell, crafting menus for each site. Mr Campbell said the award was a ‘testament to the outstanding produce we have on our doorstep in the Oxford region’.
