A MODEL of the world’s largest flower will be shown in Oxford from today.
The Rafflesia can grow up to 1.5 metres wide and the same height as an average 13-year-old child.
The plant has never been grown outside Southeast Asia but staff at Oxford University’s Botanic Garden will try to do it for the first time over the next 21 months.
In the meantime while the plant grows, the garden will display a life-size 3D oil painting of it from today.
It will only be on display for eight days as that is how long the plant blooms for.
