A PRIMARY school in West Oxfordshire has been deemed to still be 'good' after a short inspection from Ofsted.

Inspectors visited Chadlington Church of England Primary School in Church Road to ensure it was still meeting the grade it was previously given.

Leaders were said to have kept up the high quality of education and headteacher Bertie Hornibrook was praised for her 'drive, vision and inspirational leadership'.

She and her team were said be inspectors to be highly ambitious for pupils and passionate about improving the quality of provision at the school.

In a letter to Ms Hornibrook inspector Matthew Newberry said: "Pupils are articulate, confident and display very positive attitudes towards learning, their school and each other.

"They apply themselves diligently to the tasks they are given and take pride in making their work the best it can be.

"From the early years onwards, the habits of good learning are established and pupils are keen to excel, particularly in their extended curriculum project work."

Mr Newberry said the next steps for the school should include challenging the most able pupils more in writing and mathematics.

He also said the school should improve communication with parents and redevelop its website.
