POLICE in Witney are urging shoppers to keep a close eye on their purses in the town centre after a number of thefts in recent weeks.
Officers have stepped up patrols in the main shopping area but are advising shoppers to stay vigilant.
Free purse bells, to attach to purses, are available from Witney police station, in Welch Way.
