ORGANISERS of the county's biggest street parade are calling for revellers to dig deep this Christmas.

Cowley Road Works, the team behind the annual Cowley Road Carnival, have already started raising cash towards its £130,000 target to hold next summer's festivities.

Volunteers will be at Oxford's Christmas Lights Festival, selling mulled wine and raffle tickets in Gloucester Green on Friday.

They have revealed cash will help transform the festival, making it 'cleaner, greener, bigger and better' than before.

Next summer's festival is set to hit East Oxford on Sunday, July 2.
