SHOPPERS in the Vale of White Horse District Council area are being reminded there are free parking days in the run-up to Christmas.
Usually the district council offers a single day’s free parking in district council car parks in Abingdon, Faringdon and Wantage.
But this year in the run-up to Christmas, for the first time, drivers can park for free on a number of days up until December 24.
Drivers can park for free in Abingdon on Saturday, November 26 and on Saturday, December 3, December 10, December 17 and December 24.
There is also free parking in Wantage on December 2, December 9, December 16 and December 23.
In Faringdon there will be free parking on December 2, December 9, December 16 and December 23.
Eric Batts, cabinet member for technical services at the council, said: "We’re offering more free parking this Christmas so that people can shop locally for their presents and stay longer in our market towns to enjoy the great cafes and restaurants we have on offer."
