A PATIENT group in Didcot is appealing for new committee members to help support the practice.

The group for Didcot Health Centre is keen to increase its membership as the NHS goes through a significant period of change.

Chairwoman of the group Shelagh Garvey said: "Currently we have five committee members and we meet every two months, but this is not enough or representative of our patient population.

"This makes it very difficult to continue speaking on your behalf.

"We need new people, with new ideas, to join us.

"Anyone registered at the practice is automatically a member of the patient group, and may receive our newsletter, but we are looking for people who might want to be more actively involved."

Patient Groups are a requirement for all GP practices, as the NHS recognises the importance of involving patients in their care.
