A BABY cow was rescued from the River Thames in central Oxford by firefighters.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of the distressed calf in the river near Donnington Bridge Road at 10.11pm on Saturday.
Crews from Slade, Rewley Road and a specialist rescue team from Kidlington attended, and firefighters waded into the river and used animal slings to lead the animal to land and safety.
There it was checked by the RSPCA before being reunited with its herd.
