THE county's schools boss will be asked to recommend the sponsor for a new secondary school in south west Bicester new week.
Oxfordshire County Council said it would have 600 places and cater for pupils aged 11 to 16.
The school would also have a special focus on sports, health and wellbeing – also a theme of the new development.
At a meeting on Monday county council cabinet member for education Melinda Tilley will be asked to approve either the Cheney School Academy Trust, or the White Horse Federation as the sponsor.
However the decision will be secret until it is approved by the Secretary of State for Education.
