A DEBT advice service in Witney has moved to new headquarters in the town.

The Witney Debt Centre is run by Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and help to those with financial troubles.

It has now set up home at 33A High Street where people can visit to speak to debt coaches.

The coaches, who also make home visits, collect financial information and offer consultations.

They help construct a practical, personalised budget, and discuss it with people's banks and debtors.

Witney branch manager Margaret Biddlecombe leads the effort against debt in West Oxfordshire.

She said she aims to provide non-judgemental, reassuring guidance as well as an action plan.

Ms Biddlecombe said: “The great thing about CAP’s free service is that it is available to everyone – regardless of age, gender, faith or background."

CAP also provides a free money course that helps with budgeting, saving and future debt prevention.

It also runs job clubs, which serve as social and professional networking groups and have helped more than 1,000 people since they began in 2013.
