The opera singer who performed in a Batman costume on Britain's Got Talent 2024 has revealed his true identity after being knocked out in Friday (May 31) night's semi-final.

British-Ukrainian baritone Yuriy Yurchuk revealed himself as Batman today (Saturday, June 1) in a post on Instagram.

The post showed a video of Yurchuk singing in the Batman suit, with the caption: "I’ve got two words that I want you all to remember.... I'm Batman."

Yurchuk first appeared in episode three of this series of the ITV talent show, before returning in Friday's semi-final where he performed Let It Go from Disney's Frozen.

Despite positive feedback from judges Simon Cowell, Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, the public voted to send Alex Mitchell and Trixy through to the final instead.

But there is still a chance for Yurchuk, with the judges set to pick a wildcard during Sunday's (June 2) final.

The wildcard will join the other 10 finalists already selected in the BGT 2024 final.

Who is Yuriy Yurchuk?

Yurchuk was born in Kiev, Ukraine and now resides in London.

He is a baritone and the Royal Opera House principal artist, according to his website.

Reviews on his site from The Times describe him as "the finest voice on stage, with the immaculate Italianate line".

He has performed all over the world including in Brussels, Copenhagen, Zurich, and here in the UK at Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

When is the final of Britain's Got Talent?

The finalists will take to the stage one last time on Sunday (June 2) night in the live BGT final.
