Tinder to launch new 'Share My Date' safety feature
Despite millions of people using online dating it still raises safety concerns.
Nearly a quarter of online daters experience digital stalking, 10% admitted their location had been tracked and another 10% reported their social media accounts or emails had been hacked, Sky News reported.
But Tinder is set to introduce a new safety feature in the coming months called 'Share My Date'.
The new feature will allow users to share information about their date - including location, date, time, and a photo of their match - directly from the app to friends and family.
Tinder CMO Melissa Hobley said: "At Tinder, we continue to release new features that aim to create a fun, safe, and respectful experience for all.
“Discussing plans with friends and family is a time-honoured dating ritual.
"Share My Date streamlines this basic info-sharing so singles can jump right to the exciting part, from figuring out what to wear to prepping conversation topics.”
Tinder found that 51% of singles under 30 already let their friends know the details of their dates, while 18% of users share their date plans with their mum.

How does Tinder's new 'Share My Date' feature work?
Users will be able to send an easy-to-use link from the Tinder app to friends and/or family members which will give them access to information about the date including location, date, time and a photo of the match.
Date plans are also editable, so if plans change at the last minute, users can simply update the info in the app to keep their loved ones in the know.
The new 'Share My Date' feature on Tinder will roll out across the UK, US, Australia and more in the coming months.
