The UK is set to heat up for the end of August as weather forecasters predict that areas could be hotter than Los Angeles.
The Met Office has shared the long-range forecast for the end of August, including the bank holiday weekend.
With a summer that has been largely met with overcast and wet conditions for many, the news of hotter temperatures is expected to create some excitement.
The ‘mini heatwave’ will see tropical air cover the UK with the chance of temperatures possibly soaring past 30C.
Met Office predicts hotter temperatures in the UK
The upcoming week will see high pressure build seeing parts of south-east England expected to reach 32c on Friday, according to the Met Office – higher than the 26C predicted for Los Angeles.
However, the heat will come after some heavy rain, as much of the UK is expected to see heavy and persistent rain from Sunday evening and into Monday.
The weather will warm up for a while during the week ahead, and we could see 30 °C locally

Discussing the weather, Met Office forecaster Dan Stroud told the PA news agency: “We are looking at the possibility of reaching the low 30s later in the week, most likely on Friday, probably in and around London, running into East Anglia and other parts of the South and East.
“We’ve got low pressure dominating at the moment, which will eventually give way to another area of heavy rain and cloud which will move up from the South and West into Monday, which will be a miserable and wet day across England and Wales.
“Beyond that, there are tentative signs of an improvement, gradually losing that showery signal during Tuesday and Wednesday, and temperatures will start to climb.
“We’ve got high-pressure building from the middle of the week and that will tap into some tropical continental air, which will draw up some very warm, locally hot air that will allow temperatures to climb steadily.
“By the time we get into Friday and maybe into Saturday we stand a chance of breaking into the 30s.”

Although there are some risks of rain and thunderstorms as the Met Office shares:
"A changeable pattern is likely towards the end of August and into early September.
"This perhaps with the wettest conditions over the north and northwest.
"There is a probability for thunderstorms developing within warm interludes, especially in the south, but perhaps spreading across the UK at times, which could lead to large local variations in precipitation totals through the period.
"This might contribute to an unequal distribution of precipitation across the country.
"Temperatures are likely to trend down to near or slightly above average, although warm spells remain a possibility."
