BBC Radio 2 breakfast host Zoe Ball has issued an update to fans after she was forced to miss her show.

The beloved broadcaster was replaced by former Radio 1 DJ Vernon Kay for her morning show on Monday.

Zoe, 52, took to Twitter to let her 400,000 followers know why she wasn’t presenting in her normal 6.30am to 9.30am spot.

She said: “so i’ve got covid… but good news is ya man Vernon Kay is looking after y’all BBC Radio 2 😷 back soon ❤️”

 

Celebrity friends and fans alike offered their support to Zoe, with Rylan Clark saying: “Noooooooooo”.

While Louise Redknapp added: “Hope you’re ok lovely.”

Fans were quick to wish Zoe well, while also sharing their excitement that Vernon Kay would be back on their radios.

One said: “Get well soon Zoe, and take care of yourself in the meanwhile by not trying too much too quickly; Vern will look after things for you.”

Another added: “Oh noooo but I do love Vernon! So good on the radio”.

While a third said: “Always a silver lining but gutted ‘The Ball’ is out of action. Get well soon gorgeous lady.”
