Liz Truss has been promoted to foreign secretary in Boris Johnson’s cabinet reshuffle.

The MP for South West Norfolk takes over the role vacated by Dominic Raab.

Raab will move to justice secretary as part of the latest reshuffle, a role left open following the sacking of Robert Buckland.

The newly appointed foreign secretary left Number 10 after 30 minutes.

The former trade secretary did not respond to questions about her promotion amid the cabinet reshuffle as she left.

This is every cabinet minister sacked so far today, and every cabinet minister picking up a new role.
