IN ANSWER to Henry Spilberg (ViewPoints, October 17), the article in the Oxford Mail (October 15) regarding the A40 failed to fully explain my thinking behind dualling of the road. During the interview I stated that the most important aspect is that capacity at the Wolvercote, Pear Tree and Cutteslowe roundabout needs to be improved prior to dualling.
Without increasing the capacity at these vital junctions, there would be no improvement on the road.
In fact, if we had the funding available to improve capacity at these junctions, then the improved traffic flow along the A40 would take traffic off the A4095 and improve village life in Long Hanborough and Bladon, an objective close to my heart.
