Seven-year-old Reagan Spinks with his baby sister Ellie May A seven-year-old boy from Bicester has stunned his parents by raising more than £500 for the special care baby unit which looked after his little sister.
Glory Farm Primary School pupil Reagan Spinks visited his sister Ellie-May at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital almost every day for six weeks after she was born nine weeks premature earlier this year weighing just 2lb 7oz.
So he decided to organise his own sponsored bike ride to raise money for the hospital - printing out sponsor forms and asking friends and neighbours for support.
And he has now handed over a cheque for £521.
Mum Debbie said she was amazed by how much Reagan had managed to raise.
She said: "That's £300 more than we expected. We had a collection as he cycled through town. I am very proud of him, we bought him a little trophy."
Reagan's seven-mile cycle ride took him from his home in Scampton Close, down Skimmingdish Lane and through the town centre and Langford Village.
He also prompted his friends at Glory Farm Beaver Scout group to hold their own fundraising cycle ride for the cause.
Nine of the boys, aged six and seven, used their weekly meeting last month to ride around the mini-roundabout outside Glory Farm School. After completing dozens of laps each, they raised £120.
Reagan said: "The bike ride was good. My dad was tired but I wasn't."
