CHARLBURY Cricket Club is seeking planning permission to keep its old pavilion for storage.
The club, in Dyers Hill, which now has more than 300 members, was devastated in 2007 after floods left its pavilion submerged.
But since then it has built a new £285,000 pavilion – above the flood line. Its old pavilion was due to be demolished as a condition of building the new pavilion.
But club chairman Colin Olliffe said membership had grown and the old pavilion was needed for storing mowers, maintenance and youth equipment. Mr Olliffe said: “The future is looking exciting and the use of the old pavilion will definitely help – we just have not got the storage at the moment.”
West Oxfordshire District Council will decide on the application.
