MICHAEL Treadwell wrote to you on the subject of a funeral director who represented a company called Dignity (Viewpoints, October 12).
Really that name is not too far off from Dignitas, a company where if you want to depart this mortal coil forever, you can go to Switzerland.
On the back of this there is now a ‘death event’ (over two weeks) that explains this very subject – a so-called taboo, but why I do not know.
As an ancient aunt told me long ago: “We come and we go.”
I cannot believe we are immortal – we are born and then we die.
Makes sense to me. How can this be taboo? I think this is a money-making scheme for those who have a sad life. You guys should get out more – life is for living!
Perhaps those involved think they are immortal. I wish them well. Godspeed and good luck.
