WORKERS at Morris Motors took a break from making cars to enjoy a day at the seaside.
Our pictures show workers and their wives in the sunshine at Southend, and the wives raising a glass or two later in the day.
They were taken in 1959 or 1960 and were sent in by Olive Pratley, of Brambling Way, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, who went on the trip with her husband, Norman.
The outing was organised by the trim shop, but was widened to other departments to fill the coach.
Mrs Pratley, whose husband worked in maintenance and later security at the factory, tells me they enjoyed annual outings to the coast.
She writes: “It will be nice to know how many people remember those days.”
