Mark Batts, 43, of Thistle Drive, Oxford, admitted stealing a set of registration plates in Little Bury, Oxford, on July 19, and again in Little Acreage, Marston, Oxford, on August 17. Also admitted making off without paying for £71.83 worth of fuel at Bicester Services, Oxford Road, Bicester, on August 17. Seven other offences taken into account. Told to do 120 hours unpaid community work. Also told to pay £382.36 compensation and £85 costs.
Ben Keller, 24, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, admitted three charges of trying to buy a train ticket in Oxford using counterfeit money on June 3. Also admitted possession of three fake £20 notes in Oxford on the same date. Sent to prison for 12 weeks.
James Kelly, 52, of Pinnocks Way, Botley, admitted stealing a £2,500 cruiser called “Avanti” on the Oxford Canal at Wolvercote, Oxford, on June 30. Fined £200, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
Darrell Nolan, 22, of Nursery Close, Oxford, also admitted stealing a £2,500 river cruiser called “Avanti” on the Oxford Canal at Wolvercote, Oxford, on June 30. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Told to pay £85 costs and £15 victims’ surcharge.
Matthew Chalmers, 28, of Couldrey Close, Abingdon, admitted shoplifting beer worth £8 from Co-Op in Abingdon on July 26. Fined £70, £8 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
Thomas Janes, 25, of Russell Street, Oxford, admitted drink-driving in Apsley Road, Summertown, Oxford, on July 21. Had 165 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80 micrograms. Fined £240, £15 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs, and given 18-month driving ban.
Matthew Dickinson, 29, of Field Gardens, Steventon, admitted drink-driving in Drayton Road, Abingdon, on September 6. Had 74 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £400, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Disqualified from driving for 20 months.
Joshua Bedford, 23, of Ock Street, Abingdon, admitted two charges of assault by beating in Bridge Street, Abingdon, on September 1. Given an 11-day activity requirement and a 12-month supervision requirement. Told to pay a total of £150 compensation and £50 costs.
Jeannie Kent, 62, of Caldecott Road, Abingdon, admitted breaching a restraining order by sending a letter on July 4 in Ferry Walk, Abingdon. Fined £100 and £15 victims’ surcharge.
Alexander Peat, 55, of Rowlands House, Downside Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted drink-driving in Stile Road, Headington, Oxford, on September 4. Had 85 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £200, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Disqualified from driving for 18 months.
Gary Ritson, 31, of Oxford Crescent, Didcot, admitted shoplifting four cans of Stella lager and eight cans of Strongbow cider from Sainsbury’s petrol station in Didcot on September 5. Admitted shoplifting eight cans of Strongbow worth £8.38 from the same store on September 4. Also admitted shoplifting a bottle of cider worth £3.15 from Co-Op in Broadway, Didcot, on August 31. Three other offences taken into consideration. Given a 12- month conditional discharge and told to pay a total of £11.53 compensation.
Zydrunas Viktorinas, 35, of St Mary’s Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting food and alcohol worth £14.68 from Tesco in Magdalen Street, Oxford, on September 5. Given a six-month conditional discharge.
Andrea Mincher, 24, of George Street, Banbury, admitted shoplifting Champagne worth £90 from Marks & Spencer in Bridge Street, Banbury, on June 29. Fined £20 and £15 victims’ surcharge.
Kerry Scotcher, 35, of Draymans Walk, Abingdon, admitted shoplifting items worth £11 from Poundland in Abingdon on December 15, 2011. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £50 costs.
Zabair Hussain, 29, of Sutton Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Cowley, Oxford, on August 29. Had 40 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £110, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £50 costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Thomas East, 21, of Berwood Road, Headington, Oxford, admitted dishonestly receiving a stolen black laptop at Cash Generator, Pound Way, Oxford, on May 31. Fined £165, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £65 costs.
BANBURY
Keiran Tite, 22, of Church View, Banbury, admitted making a threat to damage or destroy property. Given a six month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.
David James, 53, of Foundry Street, Banbury, admitted failing or refusing to provide a sample for a Class A drug test at Banbury Police Station on August 12. Fined £110, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £45 costs.
Bartosz Paska, 30, of West Street, Banbury, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress on September 1 in Banbury. Fined £100, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £65 costs.
James Duffy, 27, of Frethern Court, Burford, admitted £75 worth of criminal damage to a Vauxhall Astra on January 7 in Burford. Discharged conditionally for six months. Told to pay £75 compensation and £85 costs.
James Phipps, 24, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, admitted drink-driving in Woodgreen Avenue, Banbury, on August 26. Had 123 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted failing to stop after an accident in Woodgreen Avenue, Banbury, on the same day. Given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for a year. Told to pay £85 costs and banned from driving for three years. Also told to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.
Warren Sykes, 31, of Bartlett Close, Witney, admitted assault by beating and criminal damage in Bartlett Close, Witney, on August 3. Told to complete 160 hours’ unpaid community work and pay £85 costs.
Gentian Harizaj, 31, of Mercury Road, Oxford, convicted of using a mobile phone while driving in Botley Road, Oxford, on March 1. Fined £200, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Given three penalty points on his driving licence.
