LOVERS of the Chilterns are being urged to wax lyrical about them and possibly win a £50 prize.
The creative writing competition is being used to help celebrate the 40th birthday of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The prize has been put up by the Chilterns Conservation Board.
Cathy Rose, from the board, said: "We are looking for some descriptive writing and it could be from people who have been born and brought up here, or people who have just visited.
"People can write a poem up to 40 lines, or prose of up to 400 words."
The closing date for entries is Friday, January 26, 2007.
