SID is going to be out and about in Ewelme in a bid to make speeding motorists slow down.
Sid - the county council's Speed Indication Device - will be placed at various spots in the village.
Drivers exceeding the limit see their speed lit up on the device and have a face with a turned down mouth indicating disapproval.
People keeping below the limit get a smile.
Parish council chairman Neil Blake said: "This is a wake-up call.
"Too many drivers have heavy right feet and brains in neutral - and some are still glued to their mobile phones.
"We're trying to get ahead of the problem with a bit of education.
"We have given up complaining and are taking steps to reduce the hazard."
Sid is purely educational, but data from the device is used by the county council and police to deal with problem areas.
A survey of traffic speeds through the village starts today and could lead to police mounting speed traps.
