Three men are facing lengthy jail terms after being found guilty of cultivating thousands of pounds worth of cannabis at a 'factory' set up on an Oxfordshire farm.
The factory was discovered at Manor Farm, near Frilford, in a police raid in January last year. A jury at Oxford Crown Court on Friday took less than two hours to convict Christopher Bridges, 29, Dino Sofroniou, 21, and Jason Warrick, 30, all from Reading, of cultivating cannabis and possessing a class C drug.
Bridges and Sofroniou were also found guilty of possessing heroin and amphetamine.
David Stannard, 35, of Reading, who was said to have set up the factory at Frilford, had previously admitted cultivating cannabis and possessing cocaine with intent to supply. He also admitted a charge of handling a stolen Jaguar car, worth £40,000.
Judge David Morton Jack adjourned sentencing, which will take place at Reading Crown Court, on a date to be fixed. All three men found guilty yesterday were remanded in custody.
Skunk cannabis could be smelt 100 yards from the ramshackle buildings where the drugs factory had been set up at Frilford.
More than 100 police officers raided a rented unit at Manor Farm during Operation Magic, on January 19 last year. The farm is down a country lane, off the A415, a few miles from Abingdon.
The nearest building is Josca's Preparatory School and the nearest built-up area is Marcham. Police found a hydroponics set-up, which they believe was capable of producing up to £100,000 worth of cannabis per year.
Then, during careful searches of the farm, officers discovered a tool box containing £236,000 worth of heroin and £10,000 worth of amphetamine.
Det Sgt Chris Biddle, who led the investigation with Dc Dave Evans, of Abingdon CID, said: "It was a substantial amount of drugs, a big hit for Thames Valley Police, one of the biggest the force has ever had."
