A WOMAN drove her BMW convertible at her husband before punching him in the face, a court heard.

Rim Hayatleh attacked her partner Khaled in front of their 11-year-old daughter after accusing him of infidelity.

The 33-year-old was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court yesterday after admitted one charge of common assault.

Prosecutor Jonathan Stone said the incident took place outside the family home in The Phelps, Kidlington, on March 25.

He said the pair’s 13-year marriage had run into difficulties and, after Mr Hayatleh had taken their daughter swimming, the defendant drove at him in her red BMW.

Mr Stone said: “Rim drove the car at him and I think it mounted the kerb in order to stop him walking away.”

After screaming at her husband about his alleged affair, Hayatleh “clenched a fist and punched him to the side of the face”.

A charge of dangerous driving was dropped after Hayatleh admitted the common assault.

Peter Du Feu, defending, said his client, who has multiple sclerosis, had now separated from her husband, but has not seen her daughter for four months.

He said Hayatleh came to Britain from Syria and has no family support in this country.

Recorder Julian Knowles gave her a two-year conditional discharge.
