YOUNG photographers are being urged to snap up the chance to win cash prizes in a contest that could see their work put on show in the city.
Oxford Preservation Trust is running the photography contest for 16 to 25-year-olds as part of this year’s Oxford Open Doors event this weekend.
The event, which dates back to 1927, is organised by the trust in partnership with Oxford University .
It sees more than 200 buildings in the city opened up to the public for two days. Last year nearly a quarter of visitors were aged between 16 and 25, so the trust wants to see the weekend through their eyes.
The contest will be judged in three categories – ‘Our Industrial Heritage’, ‘Old and New’, and ‘People’ – and all entries must be snapped over the weekend.
The closing date is September 14 and efforts will be judged by a panel including trust staff and professional photographers.
